Old Garbage Cart Collection in Process

The City of Deerfield Beach is continuing to implement the 2024 garbage cart replacement program. Curbside collection customers will have existing garbage (brown) and recycling (blue) carts replaced with a single, new 95-gallon garbage cart.

Delivery of the new 95-gallon carts is nearly complete. Residents should be storing these new containers until the old carts have been collected.

The collection of old garbage and recycling carts will begin next week.

This retrieval will take place on one of your normal collection days over the next few weeks.

The garbage in the containers will be emptied by the garbage truck, and then workers will follow behind the regular routes and collect the old bins.

Please leave both your old brown and blue carts out for the entirety of your collection day, so we have ample time to collect your containers once they’ve been emptied.

Once your old carts have been collected, that is your cue to start using your new, larger 95-gallon cart.

Collection is expected to take approximately four weeks.

Reminder: Please do not use the new 95-gallon carts until your old carts have been removed.
