Information on New COVID-19 Vaccine

Distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine is being coordinated by the State and local Department of Health in compliance with Florida's phased vaccination plan. Currently, the Department of Health is starting to vaccinate those at Assisted Living Facilities, Hospital Workers, and First Responders.

Based on the information available now, it is anticipated that the distribution of vaccines to other vulnerable populations will occur sometime after the new year, followed by distribution to the general public after that. Along with other media and news sources, the City will be communicating updates as they become available through its website and social media. However, the Deerfield Beach Center for Active Aging will be maintaining a list of individuals who are considered severely vulnerable to COVID-19 so that they can receive personal notification of the vaccine's availability.

To be added to the list, please call the Center of Active Aging at 954-480-4449, Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.

Meantime, health officials want to remind the public that the virus has already killed more than 300-thousand Americans and continues to be a public health threat to everyone. Please be cautious. Continue to social distance, wear facial coverings, and keep up good hygiene. Together we will get through this.
