Federal Highway Mobility Improvement Project

FDOT Roadway widening/drainage installation continues on Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach for the Federal Highway Mobility Improvements. Improvements include widening the road for bike lanes and reconstructing medians, parts of the road and sidewalks.

One inside lane in each direction will be closed intermittently on SR 5/Federal Highway from Sample Road to the Broward/Palm Beach County Line to reduce the width of the median for roadway widening.

Construction activities associated with the widening will take place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The contractor continues to work on Federal Highway from NE 54th Street to NE 13th Court and from NE 2nd Court to the Palm Beach County Line. Several median crossovers along Federal Highway will be temporarily closed during construction. Access to businesses and residences will be maintained using the closest median opening or intersection.

In addition, starting Wednesday, September 23rd, the Contractor will be working on sidewalk reconstruction from Sample Road to NE 54th Street. This work is anticipated to take approximately one month. One lane will be closed in each direction from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
