Vice Mayor Gloria Battle and the City of Deerfield Beach invite the general public to the 2018 Career and Resource Fair on October 24, from 4 pm to 8 pm, at the Hillsboro Community Center. The fair will connect individuals with community resources to understand the skills needed to launch and enhance a career in several fields. At the same time, employers will be present with local job openings.
The goal of the Career and Resource Fair is to open the door for Deerfield Beach residents to better prepare themselves for job opportunities. The City is bringing together local partners, such as technical colleges, businesses and community programs, to ensure residents are equipped with the necessary tools to launch or enhance a career. Preparing our workforce is an essential step to ensuring that everyone in Deerfield Beach who wants a job can find one, or even start their own business.
The fair will also offer free transportation to and from the venue from key locations in the City. Participants will have a chance to take a free professional headshot and win door prizes.
All local employers who are considering hiring are invited to participate. The event is also open to job resource agencies that would like to share their information with the local community.
There is no cost and no pre-registration required for attendees. Exhibitor registration is required, but there is no cost to participate.
The Hillsboro Community Center is located at 50 Hillsboro Technology Drive, event parking is free.
