A potable raw water well (2A-#4) sample tested positive for a Fecal Indicator (E. Coli.), which has resulted in a precautionary boil water condition for 37,172 WWS customers and the City of Coconut Creek water customers. Although recent distribution samples tested absent for Total Coliform, a bacteriological survey will be necessary to confirm the safety of the potable water for consumption.
Bacteriological samples will be taken on Saturday, May 26th, and Sunday, May 27th; the boil water condition could be rescinded on Monday, May 28th. Once the water is deemed safe, the affected WWS customers and the City of Coconut Creek will be notified by a Code Red automated telephone notification system.
