About Us

The Community Development Department is responsible for all phases of the grant process, including the preparation of state and federal grants, administering grant programs, and providing information to City officials and the citizens of Deerfield Beach. The Community Development Department staff acts as a project manager to implement and monitor the projects and organizations receiving grant funds from the City. We hold forums with our business partners, present workshops on home-buying and finances, send students to vocational school, and assist public service organizations in helping our youth. This is carried out through a variety of programs and activities which focus on neighborhood revitalization, improved community facilities, services and economic development.

Utility Service Line Warranty Program - Service Line Warranties of America

The City of Deerfield Beach Commission recently approved the Utility Service Line Warranty Program administered by Service Line Warranties of America. This program provides affordable, voluntary insurance coverage for residential sewer and water lines that are not traditionally covered by home owner insurance policies. To notify residents about this program, a letter was sent out to all residents regarding the specifics of the services being offered and how residents can take advantage of this program. The program is VOLUNTARY and NOT mandatory for city residents, but for those who elect to participate in the program there is a small monthly fee. The services provided include:

  • External sewer line warranty - Scope is from the City main tap until line daylights inside the home, which includes the service line under the concrete floor;
  • External water line warranty - Scope is from the meter and/or curb box until it daylights inside home, of which included the service line under the concrete floor;
  • In-home plumbing warranty - Covers residential in-home water supply lines and in-home sewer lines and all drain lines connected to the main sewer stack that are broken or leaking inside the home after the point of entry.

If you have any questions or need additional information please do not hesitate to contact Vickki Placide-Pickard or Jonathan Price in our Community Development Department at 954-422-5810.

Service Line Warranties of America is a BBB Accredited business with an A+ rating and the Service Line Protection Program being offered to Deerfield Beach residents is endorsed by the National League of Cities.
