Since 1925, the Parks and Recreation Department of the City of Deerfield Beach has been vital to the lifeblood of the community. Today the parks system carries on the tradition through 266 developed acres at 30 sites. In 2003, Glatting Jackson developed a 25-year Parks and Recreation System Master Plan. The goal of the Master Plan is to assist the City in expanding and revitalizing our parks and recreation system to meet the needs and desires of its growing population. The City has begun capital improvement projects throughout our parks system with funding coming from various grants and Bond dollars. 

The recreation amenities we have available throughout the City include a gymnasium, several outdoor basketball courts, a roller hockey rink, tennis courts and tot lots. Residents and visitors can also experience our Blue Wave award winning beach, Mini-Parks, Neighborhood Parks, Community Parks, Nature Preserves and Cemeteries. The Department sponsors a wide variety of special events throughout the year including Mango Festival, Founder's Day, Beach Blowout, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Women's Professional Volleyball, the Super Boat Grand Prix and Moonlight Melodies Summer Beach Concerts.
