Commissioner Joe MillerThe Honorable Joe Miller was elected to serve as Commissioner for District 1 in March 2009, and is currently serving as Vice Mayor. He has been a resident of Deerfield Beach for nearly three decades.  During this time, Commissioner Miller has served Deerfield Beach as the past president of the Deerfield Beach Rotary Club, as a member of the Deerfield Beach Kiwanis Club, and as a participant of the Deerfield Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. He is also proud of his service as a ruling elder at Coral Ridge Presbyterian Church, and as a member of the Board of Directors for WAFG 90.3 FM radio. Vice Mayor Miller is a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Born and raised on Long Island, NY, the Vice Mayor attended Suffolk Community College and the State University of New York at Albany, majoring in Business Administration. He has spent the past 35 years building and operating JP Miller & Sons Services, Inc., one of Broward County’s largest privately owned pest control companies, located right in Deerfield Beach. 

Vice Mayor Miller has been married for 31 years, and has three children.

During his tenure on the board, the Vice Mayor plans to work hard everyday to protect the quality of life in Deerfield Beach, drawing on his years of public service, and his success as a small business owner. He invites his constituents to participate in shaping the policies and decisions for District 1, and the City as a whole. Vice Mayor Miller also places priority upon committing City resources, in a proactive collaboration for progress and managed growth.
