Welcome to the Official City Website of Deerfield Beach. Our town is perhaps best known for its wondrous natural resource, the Atlantic Ocean, which forms the eastern border of the community, coupled with a continual public access Ocean Walk walkway that meanders along the tropical shoreline. Unlike many other South Florida communities, our beach is completely open to the public. This fact, in combination with the care the community takes to preserve this resource, has been recognized four consecutive years with the National Blue Wave Award. Our community has been selected three times in the past four years as an All-America City finalist, because of our focus on partnerships with citizenry, businesses, non-profit support agencies, religious organizations, health and educational institutions.

The "human" asset of Deerfield Beach is our commitment to the men, women, and children that enjoy a great quality of life in a dynamic coastal community. Our diverse population speaking over 40 languages creates a town known for its warmth and friendliness. Our small town charm is complemented by a range of real estate that offers moderate housing to luxury housing on the waterfront. We also recognize the ever-increasing need for affordable housing in South Florida, the Deerfield Beach Housing Authority is in the final design phases for a town home project that will significantly increase the city’s inventory of workforce housing. In addition, the city provides up to $25,000 for first-time homebuyers to help achieve the American Dream of financial security.

Our “business” advantage is our location. We are located in between Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and Palm Beach International Airports. We have convenient access to major interstates, turnpikes, expressways and Tri-Rail. We are already home to many corporations such as JM Family Enterprises, MWI Industries, Cosmo International, Stainless Incorporated, HomeBanc, Mapei Western Hemisphere and the Sun-Sentinel that employ over 25,000 men and women, who successfully thrive in their respective industries. Two of the preceding corporations are listed in both Forbes and Fortune Magazine as top companies to work for in their respective categories.

Our “enjoyment” is more than our award-winning beach and surfing spots. We provide over 600 acres in parks that feature an aquatics center, athletic facilities, community centers, a recognized arboretum and many neighborhood parks. We are also home to five golf courses highlighted by the award-winning Deer Creek Country Club. There are multiple marinas with access to Intracoastal Waterway & Atlantic Ocean including the nationally recognized Marina One Yacht Club. In our western region, the Quiet Waters regional park offers mountain bike trails, cable water skiing, skateboard park, camping, picnic shelters and annual festivities.

Our “education” is all about our children. Thanks to the cooperative efforts of parents, local teachers and administrators, three of the city’s four elementary schools and its middle school have marked a major turnaround in the last few years by scoring an “A” based on the Governor’s educational quality rating system. Deerfield Beach Middle School as well as its High School house International Baccalaureate programs requiring an entrance of students with scores in Math and Reading of 90% and above. Moreover, in an era of a declining focus on exercise in school, Deerfield Beach Middle School’s Health and Wellness Magnet program was awarded the Physical Education Model by the state of Florida in 2003.

"The city is the teacher of man" and the Office of the City Manager is pleased to assist in this all important function by managing and directing the policies adopted by your Mayor and City Commission, a budget of $86 million, and a work force of nearly 600 associates. Our organization's commitment to excellence is exhibited through the achievement of All-American City finalist; America's first Project Impact Community; continuous Blue Wave award winner, Tree City USA and membership in the "Internet Coast" technology consortium.

We hope that whether you are a resident, business owner or visitor, you take the time to enjoy what we have to offer. As always, we are open to any suggestions about making Deerfield Beach a better place. Feel free to contact any of our associates. Thanks and enjoy our site.
