The Honorable Bill Ganz was elected to serve as Commissioner for District 4 in March 2009, having been a resident of Deerfield Beach since 1997. During this time, he has served Deerfield Beach as a founding member of the West Deerfield Community Alliance; on the Deerfield Beach Code Enforcement Board; as a member of the Deerfield Beach Ad Hoc Telecommunications Committee; and as the Deerfield Beach representative for the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization Community Round Table. Additionally, Commissioner Ganz has served as both President and Vice President of the Deer Isle Homeowner’s Association. He has also been active at Quiet Waters Elementary School, both in an advisory capacity and on the PTA.
A native Floridian, Commissioner Ganz attended Broward Community College and Florida State University. Professionally, Commissioner Ganz served previously as the Director of Internet Services for Power Images, a leading marketing and graphic design firm in Fort Lauderdale. Currently, he fulfills multiple roles for two local businesses—Global Pipe & Supply and Bud's Sports Cards & Collectibles—handling distribution, customer service, sales, marketing, and contract negotiations. During football season, Commissioner Ganz also works in media relations for the Miami Dolphins.
Commissioner Ganz has been married to his wife Cristina for twelve years. They have two daughters, Danielle and Sara.
During his tenure on the board, Commissioner Ganz’s short term goals will focus upon enhancing public safety and improving communication between officials and citizens. In the long term, he favors expanding youth athletic programs and parks in West Deerfield; encouraging the city to "go green"; and advocating for a Turnpike sound barrier wall. Ultimately, Commissioner Ganz hopes to restore the city’s faith in its elected officials. |
