The Honorable Peggy Noland was elected to serve as Mayor for the City of Deerfield Beach in March 2009. Mayor Noland served previously as the Commissioner for District 1 for twelve consecutive years, three of those years as Vice Mayor. As a Commissioner, Mayor Noland worked tirelessly to bring meaningful projects to the residents of Deerfield Beach. Shining examples of her accomplishments include the Middle School Athletic and Aquatic Complex, sweeping improvements on Ocean Way, the state of the art Mitigation Operations Center, the new West Water Plant, and a new Public Works facility. Other notable achievements include helping to establish the Citizens Observer Patrol (C.O.P.S.) and Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.), participating in FEMA’s Project Impact initiative, supporting the improvement of parks throughout the city, and instituting neighborhood traffic calming devices.
Since 1982, Mayor Noland has called Deerfield Beach home, and the place where she and her husband have raised their three children.
During her tenure as Mayor, she intends to continue to work towards preserving the uniqueness of Deerfield Beach: its mix of “hometown” lifestyle and prosperous business community. Mayor Noland plans to draw on her experience and knowledge as a commissioner to work as part of a co-operative team with the current City Commission.
