Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA)

In 1999 the City of Deerfield Beach established a Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA). The CRA was tasked with utilizing tax increment revenue (TIR) to creatively partner with the private sector to increase investment in the CRA district as well as upgrade the area's public infrastructure.

 Community Redevelopment Area Projects- Public Sector
Sullivan Park Expansion
Cost:  $4 million
Currently in design.  Project is planned to provide public access to the Intracoastal Waterway, improve park facilities, provide pedestrian access along the water to the Cove Shopping Center and provide a recreational attraction for the community. 


Cove Gardens Streetscape Improvements


Cost:  $1.6 million
The Cove Gardens neighborhood lies between Hillsboro Square and the Cove Shopping Center.  The project includes the installation of a new drainage system, roadway surfaces, sidewalks, lighting and landscaping. 
Under Construction - Scheduled for Completion in December 2013

Deerfield Beach International Pier Entrance Facility

Cost:$4.5 million
The beautiful new Pier Entrance buildings are the City's first LEED facility and has achieved Silver Certification.  The facility features a welcome center, bait and tackle rental booth, public restrooms, second story public observation deck, and family friendly diner that is open 24 hours daily.   
Cove Shopping Center Parking Lot
Project included installation of drainage system, landscaping, lighting and an iconic entryway tower
Cost:  $3.2 million

Hillsboro Streetscape

Hillsboro Boulevard from Federal Highway to A1A
Undergrounded utilities, repaved roadway, installed mast arm traffic signals, paver sidewalks, bike lanes, new street furniture and lighting, increased landscaping and signage. 
Cost:  $7 million
