The Building Division is responsible for enforcing
ensuring safe, sound and progressive development of commercial and residential properties. Renovations, remodeling and construction are all closely monitored, while code inspections are conducted systematically. The division complies with guidelines established by the Florida Building Commission and Broward County Board of Rules & Appeals. The Building Division has three areas of responsibility: Building, Occupational Licensing, and Burglar Alarm Permitting.
Building Division 954-480-4250
Provides plan review, permits and periodic inspection services to most public and private construction as determined by the Florida Building Code
and other applicable laws. The Building Division is responsible for the identification and removal of unsafe structures in conjunction with the Unsafe Structure Board.
Burglar Alarm Permitting/ Registration
Issues permits to residents and business operators who require alarms on their properties. The permitting system is designed to register current information about the building owner and to reduce false alarm calls received by the Broward County Sheriff Office.
Home Owners (HOA approval)
It is your responsibility to obtain approval from your Home Owners Association before applying for a permit and comply with their requirements.

Upcoming informational session on the Hillsboro Bank Stabilization Project
The South Florida Water Management District will be holding an information session regarding the Hillsboro Bank Stabilization Project on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5:30 – 7:00pm at the Broward Sheriff Substation, 580 S. Powerline Road, Deerfield Beach.
Memorial Day – City Facilities Closed
The City of Deerfield Beach and all city facilities, except the International Fishing Pier and Deerfield Beach Middle School Aquatic Center, will be closed Monday, May 27 in honor of Memorial Day. The Aquatic Center will close at 4:30 PM on Memorial Day.
