Hello friends,Wednesday, November 15th was the Florida Department of Transportation kick-off meeting for S.W. 10th Street. Over 300 residents and businesses representatives were in attendance. The highlights from the meeting are as follows:1. There is no design for any roadway improvements yet. The purpose of the meeting was for FDOT to get feedback from the public as to what elements they want and don't want incorporated into the project.2. The preference at this time is for express lanes to be located "below grade" with local side roads for residents and businesses.3. Construction could begin as early as 2020 and will cost at least $500 million. Construction will take three to four years to complete.4. A "no build" option is still on the table.5. A proposed first design for S.W. 10th Street is slated to be released in March/April 2018.6. FDOT has a specific website for this project. It is www.sw10street.com. If you were unable to attend Wednesday's meeting, you can leave a comment through the website regarding your vision for this roadway.I will continue to monitor this project and keep you informed along the way. Please let me know your thoughts about this project. I am interested to hear what you have to say!Lastly, I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving holiday. We have so many things to be thankful for as Americans that it is impossible to list them all in this e-mail. Enjoy time with your friends and families and we will talk again soon.Thank you and have a great weekend!
