District 4 Crime Alert: Missing Child Found
The Broward Sheriff's Office was searching for a missing 4-year-old Hispanic child near 714 NW 44 Terrace in Deerfield Beach. Police were alerted and began their search at about 5:00 PM. Bloodhounds and police helicopters were dispatched and a dive team was put on standby.
As it began to get dark, police brought out the flashlights and several neighbors joined the search. At about 7:15 PM, a civilian helping police look for the boy, was walking past a parked vehicle when he heard a faint tap, which brought him to a halt. He began to look around when he heard the tap again and noticed a little boy sitting alone in the drivers' side of a parked white, Chrysler PT Cruiser. The man called for police and they were able to coax the boy into unlocking the car.
Four-year-old Victor Liberator was found safe and unharmed. The boy was out playing with other children when he wandered off. According to police, Victor got inside his fathers unlocked vehicle, which was parked near the boys home, along 44th Terrace, and fell asleep in the back seat.
Law enforcement from the nearby districts of Weston, Pompano Beach and North Lauderdale assisted the Deerfield Beach district during the incident.
