YOU ARE HEREBY NOTIFIED that, pursuant to a request from the City’s counsel, a Special City Commission Meeting will be held on Tuesday May 1, 2018, at 10:00  p.m. in the Second Floor Main Conference Room of the City Hall Complex, 150 Northeast Second Avenue, Deerfield Beach, Florida 33441, to discuss settlement negotiations and strategy related to litigation expenditures in the matter MARIA ESPEJO V. CITY OF DEERFIELD.  Present will be the City Manager, City Attorney, and City Commission and litigation Counsel from Weiss Serota.  The session shall commence at an open meeting at which the Mayor shall announce the commencement and estimated length of the attorney-client session and the names of the persons attending. The discussion between the attorney and the Commission and City Manager shall not be open to the public but shall be taken down by a court reporter.  At the conclusion of the attorney-client session, the meeting shall be reopened, and the Mayor shall announce the termination of the session.  The transcript shall become a public record 30 days after the litigation is finally concluded.
