Office of the City Manager

Welcome to our great City located on the Atlantic Ocean in beautiful South Florida. We are home to both luxurious and quaint neighborhoods, major corporations and many recreational amenities in the water and on the land. We have a diverse population that is welcoming to everyone. Our infrastructure is modern and we use contemporary planning and operational practices that enable us to keep taxes competitively low and our property values stable.
We are a nautical destination for saltwater and freshwater enthusiasts. We are home to some of the best and most consistent surf in South Florida. There are two large surfing areas on our beach. We host several Eastern Surfing Association and other ocean sports competitions. Our beach is the birthplace of the Surfers for Autism organization. The surf industry is alive and well with Island Water Sports, Billabong Surf Shop and even a surfboard manufacturer, the legendary Bird Surfboards. If you enjoy paddle boarding and kayaking then this is the place to paddle. For boaters, we are within a mile of two ocean inlets (Boca Raton and the well-known Lighthouse Point). Our off-shore reefs and marine life are abundant and easily accessible. There is a variety of housing options with deep-water access. Quiet Waters Park features canoe rentals and the only local cable water ski attraction, the Sky Rixen. It also has a large mountain bike trail for the landlubbers. Hands down, our oceanfront hotels offer the best views, rooms, and distance to shopping, dining and regional professional sports teams such as the Miami Heat, Miami Dolphins, and Florida Panthers. Many spectators stay at our hotels when attending the Orange Bowl and other major sports venues.
Our Parks and Recreation facilities and programs are some of the best in the area. We feature several programs, activities, and athletics for children and adults of all ages. Our Aquatics Center draws major university swim teams from all over the country for winter practice. During the rest of year, we have a winning competitive swim team and swim lessons for the young and old. We also have two boat launch ramps. One is for ocean access. The other is for Everglades National Park access. Each year we host several special events including the Founder’s Day at the Beach, Arts Festival, MLK Day Parade and Carnival, Winter Wonderland and the Spectacular Fireworks on the 4th of July at the International Fishing Pier. Our 960 feet International Fishing Pier is an award-winning facility that is the model for other piers on the Atlantic Ocean in Florida. It features a 24-hour oceanfront restaurant, roof-top terrace and full-service bait and tackle shop.
Our location within 30 minutes of 2 international airports and 2 seaports, major roadways and educated populace makes Deerfield Beach a unique opportunity for businesses seeking a prosperous and sub-tropical location. We are home to JM Family Enterprises/Southeast Toyota, People’s Trust Insurance, Just Play Toys, SHL Pharmaceuticals and a range of office and industrial parks. We also have a partnership with Florida Atlantic University Research and Development Agency that created a research park along Interstate 95. Please visit our partner, the Greater Deerfield Beach Chamber of Commerce for all the details about our business environment and local interests.
We invite you to visit our vibrant coastal community that features beautiful vistas, fun activities, great dining, and entertainment. We offer all of this and more. I look forward to your visit or relocation to the best beach and city in Broward County.
